Ingredients

  • 8 potato pancakes frozen
  • 2/3 pound ground beef
  • 4 tablespoons breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 5 tablespoons tomato ketchup
  • 1 pinch paprika
  • 1 pinch white pepper
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 8 lettuce leaves
  • 3 medium tomatoes sliced
  • 4 gherkins pickled, sliced
  • 1/2 onion peeled and grated
  • 4 tablespoons tartar sauce

Method

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F. Put the potato pancakes on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake them for 25 minutes. Turn them over after 10 minutes.
  • Mix the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg and 1 tbsp of ketchup. Add the paprika and white pepper. Season to taste. Divide the mixture into 4 and flatten them into burgers. Heat the oil in a frying pan and fry the burgers for about 3-4 minutes each side.
  • Take the potato pancakes out of the oven. On 4 of them place a lettuce leaf and a quarter of the tomatoes. Put a burger on each one, then a quarter of the gherkins and onions. Put a dollop of ketchup and tartar sauce on each, followed by a lettuce leaf and another potato pancake.
