Ingredients

  • 5 medium peeled potatoes, sliced thin
  • 1 (32 oz.) jar Ragu sauce
  • 1 lb. hamburger
  • 8 oz. shredded Mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. oregano
  • 1/2 tsp. basil
  • salt and pepper to taste

Method

  • Brown hamburger in skillet. Drain fat.
  • Add Ragu and all ingredients except cheese.
  • Bring to a boil. Simmer on low 15 minutes.
  • In greased casserole, alternate layers of sauce and potatoes, beginning and ending with sauce.
  • Cover with foil. Bake 45 minutes at 350°.
  • Remove from oven.
  • Sprinkle Mozzarella on top.
  • Return to oven, uncovered, for 15 minutes.
  • Remove from oven.
  • Let set 5 to 10 minutes before serving.
