Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp. baking pwdr
  • 1 tbsp. poppy seed
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon thyme leaves
  • 1/3 c. butter, cut into chunks
  • 3/4 c. lowfat milk

Method

  • In large bowl, stir together flour, baking pwdr, poppy seeds, salt and thyme.
  • Mix butter till mix resembles coarse cornmeal.
  • Pour in lowfat milk; stir till dough is proportionately moistened.
  • Drop dough in 1/4 c. portion about 1 inch apart in a greased 9 inch round baking pan.
  • Bake at 450 degrees for 15 to 18 min.
  • Makes 8 large biscuits.
