Ingredients

  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 14 cup butter or 14 cup margarine
  • 1 egg
  • 34 cup milk
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 34 cups brown sugar
  • 2 12 cups very hot water
  • 1 cup coconut

Method

  • Cream the first two ingredients together.
  • Add egg and milk, then stir in flour and salt.
  • Pour this into a 9x12 pan (ungreased).
  • Mix the topping ingredients together (brown sugar, water and coconut) and gently pour over cake mixture.
  • Bake in a 375F oven on the midlde rack until golden brown.
  • Serve hot or warm with vanilla ice cream.
