Ingredients

  • 1/2 head cabbage, coarsely sliced or shredded
  • 1 small potato, peeled and diced
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. caraway seed (optional)
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 1/2 lb. Polish sausage, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 (14 oz.) can chicken broth

Method

  • Place sliced cabbage in crock-pot.
  • Toss with diced potato, salt and caraway seed.
  • Add sliced onion and Polish sausage. Pour chicken broth over all; stir lightly.
  • Cover and cook on low setting for 6 to 10 hours (high setting for 2 to 4 hours).
  • Serve with boiled new potatoes.
  • Makes 4 servings, 3 1/2 quarts.
