- 2 1/2 c. Planters pecan halves or walnuts
- 4 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 c. sugar
- 1/3 c. water
- 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp. Davis baking powder
- 1/4 c. Brer Rabbit light molasses
- 1 tsp. ground allspice
- 1/4 c. Blue Bonnet margarine
- confectioners sugar glaze, tinted with food coloring, colored sprinkles or candies
Method
- Finely chop 1 1/2 cups nuts.
- Combine flour, chopped nuts and baking powder; set aside.
- In saucepan, heat sugar, molasses, water, allspice and cinnamon to a boil.
- Remove from heat; stir in margarine until melted.
- Blend in flour mixture.
- Chill 1 hour.
