Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter Softened
  • 2 cups caster sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 5/8 cups plain flour
  • cocoa powder For decoration

Method

  • Line the baking tray(s) with grease proof paper. Put the soft butter into the bowl and mix well with a wooden spoon until light and fluffy.
  • Break the egg(s) into the bowl and then mix it in well with the wooden spoon.
  • Sift the flour into the bowl. Gently stir it into the other ingredients.
  • Knead the dough into a smooth, stretchy dough (If the dough is too sticky, add a bit more flour.) Then wrap the dough in a piece of plastic wrap and leave it in the fridge for exactly 15 minutes. If you are using this recipe for double the portion then you have to set the timer to 30 minutes.
  • Roll out the dough on a floured surface to a desired thickness and cut out shapes from the dough, repeat this until you run out of dough. Whilst you cut the shapes out, place the biscuits onto the baking tray(s).
  • Place the baking tray(s) into the oven and set the temperature to 180'C or gas mark 4. Wait till the biscuits are golden brown and take them out of the oven.
  • Place the biscuits onto a large plate and sprinkle cocoa powder onto them
  • Enjoy! You have made a yummy set of biscuits!
