- 1 lb. lean ground beef
- 1/2 c. sliced olives
- 1/2 c. chopped onion
- 1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 can (6oz) tomato paste
- 1 tsp. dried oregano
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1 loaf (20") French bread (halved lengthwise)
- 3 medium tomatoes (sliced)
- 2 c. shredded mozzarella cheese
Method
- In a bowl, combine the uncooked beef, olives, onion, Parmesan cheese, tomato paste, oregano, salt and pepper.
- Spread to the edges of the cut surface of the bread.
- Broil 6-inches from the heat for 8 to 10 minutes or until the meat is fully cooked.
- Top with tomatoes and the mozzarella cheese.
- Broil 2 to 3 minutes more or until cheese is melted.
- Serve immediately.
