Ingredients
- smoked hog jowl (as much as you prefer)
- dried pinto beans (as many as it takes)
- water (use common sense and add enough so you don't burn your beans)
- salt (season them until they're as salty as you want them to be)
Method
- Look through the beans and pick out all the rocks and rotten looking beans.
- Throw that away and wash the good ones at least 2 or 3 times with clean water.
- Don't leave any of those beans in my sink for me to have to clean out later.
- Drain all the water out and put the beans in a large pot.
- Fill it almost to the top with cold water.
- Add your cut up meat to the pot.
- Bring it to a boil. Cut down to about medium heat and cook until done, about 2 1/2 to 3 hours.
- Season with salt and simmer until you're ready to eat.
