Ingredients

  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1 small can crushed pineapple
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 2 1/2 c. rolled oats
  • 1 c. shortening

Method

  • Cook together the sugar, cornstarch and crushed pineapple until thick and clear; set aside to cool.
  • Mix together the flour, salt, brown sugar, rolled oats and shortening until crumbly. Spread 1/2 mixture in well-greased baking dish, then spread pineapple mixture with remainder of crumb mixture.
  • Press down. Bake for 30 minutes at 350°.
