Ingredients
- 10 to 12 potatoes, boiled and mashed with milk and butter
- 3/4 lb. grated Cheddar cheese
- 2 1/2 sticks margarine, melted (will be cooking onions in it)
- 2 chopped onions
- 1/2 lb. lasagna noodles, cooked and drained
- salt (optional)
Method
- Cook potatoes and mash, adding milk and butter as needed. Cook and drain lasagna noodles.
- Add cheese to potatoes and beat with mixer. Saute onions in butter until tender. Add 1/3 of the butter and onion mixture to potatoes.
- Add salt to taste.
- Butter a 9 x 13-inch pan.
- Layer with 1/2 of the noodles, then 1/2 of the potatoes.
- Repeat, ending with noodles.
- Pour the remaining butter and onions over top of noodles.
- Cover with foil and bake at 350° for 45 minutes.
