Ingredients
- 1 (8 1/4 oz.) can sliced beets
- 1/2 c. vinegar
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- dash of cloves
- 1 small bay leaf
- 1 small onion, thinly sliced
Method
- Drain beets, reserving 1/4 cup liquid.
- Put beets into small serving dish.
- In small saucepan, combine beet liquid and remaining ingredients.
- Bring to boiling point.
- Reduce heat; simmer 5 minutes.
- Pour over beets.
- Refrigerate until well chilled, about 1 hour.
