Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
  • 1 1/2 sticks oleo (not soft kind)
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 c. sifted cake flour or 1 3/4 c. regular flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • confectioners sugar

Method

  • Combine sugar, softened cream cheese, oleo and vanilla, mixing until well blended.
  • Add eggs; mix at low speed of electric mixer until blended.
  • Stir together flour and baking powder.
  • Gradually add flour mixture to cheese mixture, mixing at low speed until blended.
  • Pour into lightly greased and floured angel food pan. Bake at 325° for 1 hour and 20 minutes.
  • Let cool about 5 minutes before removing from pan.
  • Sprinkle top with confectioners sugar.
