Ingredients

  • 1 lb. round steak, cut into thin strips
  • 1/4 c. hot cooking oil
  • 1 c. chopped celery
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1 1/2 c. water
  • 1 tsp. salt and pepper
  • 2 tomatoes, wedged
  • cooked rice
  • 1 c. (1 inch strips) green pepper
  • 1 chopped onion

Method

  • Brown steak in hot oil.
  • Add garlic and cook until yellow. Add soy sauce, salt and 1/2 cup water to steak.
  • Cook 25 minutes. Add green pepper, onion and celery to mixture.
  • Cook 10 minutes more.
  • Blend cornstarch with 1 cup water and stir into mixture. Add tomatoes and cook 5 minutes more.
  • Serve hot over cooked rice.
