- 2 lb. boneless chuck steak
- 2 Tbsp. shortening
- 1 envelope onion soup mix
- 2 medium green peppers
- 2 c. water
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 2 tomatoes
- soy sauce to taste
- white pepper to taste
Method
- Cut meat into thin strips.
- In large skillet, heat shortening and brown meat, turning often.
- Stir in onion soup mix and 2 cups water.
- Cover.
- Simmer 30 minutes.
- Add peppers.
- Simmer, covered, 10 minutes or until meat is tender.
- Blend cornstarch with 1/2 cup water.
- Stir into skillet.
- Cook, while stirring, until thickened. Stir in soy sauce and white pepper.
- Serve with rice.
- Makes 6 to 8 servings.
