Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. round steak, cut in strips
  • 2 Tbsp. shortening
  • 1 envelope Lipton onion soup mix
  • 2 c. water
  • 2 medium green bell peppers, cut into thin strips
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. cornstarch

Method

  • Cut
  • meat
  • into thin strips. In skillet heat shortening and brown
  • meat, turning frequently. Stir in onion soup and 2 cups water.
  • Cover
  • and simmer 30 minutes. Stir in peppers. Simmer, covered,
  • 10
  • minutes
  • or until meat is tender. Blend cornstarch with
  • 1/2
  • cup
  • water.
  • Stir
  • into skillet.
  • Cook, stirring, until thickened. Serve over rice or noodles.
