Ingredients

  • 2 c. sifted flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 3/4 c. butter
  • 1 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 1 c. sifted powdered sugar
  • 1 c. nuts
  • 1 c. coconut
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Method

  • Sift together dry ingredients.
  • In a large saucepan combine butter, brown sugar and milk.
  • Bring to a boil.
  • Stir constantly for 1 minute.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Stir in powdered sugar, nuts, coconut and vanilla.
  • Blend in dry ingredients.
  • Turn into greased 15 x 10 x 1-inch pan or two 9 x 9 x 1-inch pans.
  • Bake at 375° for 25 to 30 minutes.
  • Do not overbake.
  • Cut while warm.
