Ingredients

  • 1st Layer:
  • 1/2 C. butter
  • 1/2 C. oleo
  • 1 C. brown sugar
  • 2 C. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2nd Layer:
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 C. sugar, added gently
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 C. dark corn syrup
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 C. pecans, coarsely chopped

Method

  • 1st Layer:
  • Mix together until blended. Pat into a cake pan 9 x 13. Bake 10 min. in 350 degree oven.
  • 2nd Layer:
  • Beat eggs and add sugar gradually.
  • Add vanilla, dark corn syrup, salt and nuts.
  • Pour egg mixture over baked mixture. Bake for 15 min. in 350 degree oven. Turn oven down to 275 degrees and bake 20 min. more.
