Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups wholemeal SR flour
  • 1 1/4 cups SR flour
  • 1 cup pecan
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup oil
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons VEGEMITE
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • butter, for spreading

Method

  • SIFT the flours together into a large bowl.
  • Stir in 3/4 of the pecan nuts.
  • BEAT together the milk, oil, honey, VEGEMITE and egg.
  • Add to the flour and briefly mix.
  • Spoon into 12 x 1/3 cup greased muffin pans.
  • Sprinkle with remaining pecans.
  • BAKE in a hot oven 200 degrees C for 20 minutes or until cooked.
  • Cool slightly before turning out.
  • Serve warm with butter.
