Ingredients

  • 1 c. butter
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 3/4 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3/4 teaspoon almond extract
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking pwdr
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • About 1 c. pecan halves

Method

  • Cream butter, gradually add in sugar beating till fluffy.
  • Add in egg yolks one at a time beating well after each addition.
  • Stir in flavorings.
  • Combine flour, baking pwdr and salt.
  • Add in to creamed mix and beat well.
  • roll dough in 1 inch balls.
  • Place about 2 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet place a pecan half in the center of each cookie.
  • Bake at 300 degrees for about 10 min or possibly till lightly brown.Cold on wire rack.
  • Makes 3 1/2 dozen cookies.
  • I use minced pecans an mix into the batter.
  • The dough handles better if allowed to chill.
