Ingredients

  • 1 bag Hershey's kisses
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 3/4 c. creamy peanut butter
  • 1/3 c. granulated sugar
  • 1/3 c. packed light brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 Tbls. milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • granulated sugar

Method

  • Heat oven to 375 degrees. Remove wrappers from Hershey's kisses.
  • Beat shortening and peanut butter in large bowl until well blended. Add sugars; beat until light and fluffy. Add egg, milk and vanilla; beat well.
  • Stir together flour, baking soda and salt; gradually beat into peanut butter mixture.
  • Shape dough into 1 inch balls. Roll in granulated sugar; place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8-10 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove from oven and immediately press a Hershey's kiss into center of each cookie. Cookie will crack around the edges.
  • Remove from cookie sheet to wire rack and cool completely.
