Ingredients
- 1/3 c. butter
- 5 c. sugar
- 2 c. corn syrup
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 c. water
- 1 lb. raw blanched peanuts
- 1/2 tsp. soda
Method
- Place sugar, syrup and water in kettle.
- As soon as a batch begins to boil, put in peanuts which have been blanched and let boil, stirring constantly, to hard crack.
- Remove from stove. Stir in butter and cut in small pieces.
- Salt and return to stove and let boil a minute or so.
- Remove from stove.
- Add soda.
- Pour on buttered pan.
