Ingredients

  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. light corn syrup
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 1 1/2 c. salted peanuts
  • 3 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 tsp. baking soda

Method

  • Combine sugar, corn syrup and water.
  • Mix well; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until sugar dissolves.
  • Continue cooking, stirring occasionally until mixture reaches 285°.
  • Remove from heat at once; stir in nuts and butter.
  • Cook, stirring constantly, until it reaches 295°.
  • Remove; add vanilla and baking soda.
  • Stir to blend.
  • Pour onto well-buttered sheet.
  • When cold, break into pieces.
