Ingredients
- 7 tsp. shortening
- 1/2 c. chopped onion
- 2 1/2 tsp. paprika
- 4 1/2 to 5 lb. chicken
- salt
- 1 c. green pepper
- 1 medium tomato
- 1/4 c. flour
- 1 1/4 c. sour cream
Method
- Heat shortening in large skillet, saute onion until light yellow.
- Stir in paprika over reduced heat.
- Add meat and salt, browning meat while stirring.
- When meat is well browned, add a small amount of water or stock.
- Simmer, do not boil!
- When meat is almost tender, add chopped green pepper and tomato.
- Mix flour and sour cream together and thicken the gravy of the paprikas.
- Serve with small dumpling or rice or boiled potatoes.
