Ingredients

  • 1 c. margarine or butter, melted
  • 1 1/2 c. packed brown sugar
  • 2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 c. dark corn syrup
  • 1 egg
  • 2 c. salted peanuts

Method

  • Heat oven to 375°.
  • Line jelly roll pan (15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1-inch) with waxed paper.
  • Beat butter and sugar.
  • Mix in flour, syrup and egg.
  • Stir in peanuts.
  • Spread in pan.
  • Bake until light brown (about 25 minutes).
  • Loosen layer from sides of pan.
  • Invert onto wire rack.
  • Carefully remove paper.
  • Cool.
  • Break into pieces.
