Ingredients

  • 1 large bag frozen hash browns
  • 1 to 2 pt. sour cream
  • 1/3 c. milk
  • 6 green onions, including tops, thinly sliced
  • 3/4 to 1 lb. Cheddar cheese (sharp is best)

Method

  • Partially thaw hash browns.
  • Place in a large bowl.
  • Add sour cream, milk and onions.
  • Salt and pepper liberally.
  • Shred cheese.
  • Mix in with potato mixture, reserving about 1/2 cup to sprinkle on top.
  • Place in a 9 x 12-inch Pyrex dish.
  • Can be made ahead and refrigerated for a day or two.
  • Bake at 325° for approximately 1 hour.
  • Great reheated or can be frozen after baked.
