Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 lb. ground pork
  • 1 1/4 c. bread crumbs
  • 1/2 can or 1/3 c. tomato paste
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 c. minced onion
  • 2 Tbsp. fresh or dried parsley
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. Tabasco sauce
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 3 Tbsp. butter, margarine or oil

Method

  • Combine the first 10 ingredients in a large bowl; mix well. Using a tablespoon, scoop out and shape meat balls.
  • Fry in butter or oil until brown, frying only a few at a time.
  • Place in a chafing dish to keep warm.
  • Serve with toothpicks.
  • Yields 30 to 35 meat balls.
