- 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
- 1/2 lb. ground pork
- 1 1/4 c. bread crumbs
- 1/2 can or 1/3 c. tomato paste
- 1 egg
- 1/4 c. minced onion
- 2 Tbsp. fresh or dried parsley
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. Tabasco sauce
- 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
- 3 Tbsp. butter, margarine or oil
Method
- Combine the first 10 ingredients in a large bowl; mix well. Using a tablespoon, scoop out and shape meat balls.
- Fry in butter or oil until brown, frying only a few at a time.
- Place in a chafing dish to keep warm.
- Serve with toothpicks.
- Yields 30 to 35 meat balls.
