Ingredients

  • 1 qt. oysters
  • saltine crackers
  • 1 small onion, chopped fine
  • 1/2 c. celery, chopped fine
  • salt
  • pepper
  • butter
  • milk

Method

  • Place oysters in layers in baking dish alternately with cracker crumbs and seasonings, onion and celery.
  • When dish is full, add the oyster liquor and sufficient milk to moisten.
  • Cover with crumbs; dot with butter.
  • Bake in 350° oven for about 1 hour. The last 10 minutes, turn oven up and bake until cracker crumbs are browned golden.
  • Serve hot!
