Ingredients
- 3/4-inch thick slices French bread
- ??? eggs
- ??? c. milk
- ??? Tbsp. sugar
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. orange juice
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1/4 c. butter or margarine, divided in half
- powdered sugar
Method
- Place bread in a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish.
- Combine eggs, milk, sugar, salt, orange juice and vanilla; beat well.
- Pour mixture over bread slices and turn slices to coat evenly.
- Cover and refrigerate overnight.
- In the morning, melt 2 tablespoons margarine in a large skillet; remove 4 slices bread from dish and saute 4 minutes or until browned on each side.
- Repeat procedure with remaining margarine and bread.
- Sprinkle with xxxx sugar and serve immediately.
- Makes 4 servings.
