Ingredients
- 1 c. butter or 2 sticks margarine
- 2 c. sugar
- 4 c. plain flour
- pinch of salt
- 4 eggs
- 1 1/3 c. buttermilk
- 1 lb. orange candy
- 2 c. nuts, chopped
Method
- Melt or soften butter.
- Cream with sugar.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating after each.
- Add flour and salt with chopped nuts, dates and candy.
- Add to creamed mixture.
- Bake in large tube pan prepared as for other cakes.
- Bake at 275° for 2 1/2 hours.
