Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 tsp finely grated orange peel
  • 2 Tbsp orange juice
  • 2 Tbsp Champagne vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp finely chopped onion
  • Dash pepper
  • *2 Tbsp sugar
  • *2 Tbsp (heaping) orange marmalade
  • 2 tsp triple sec or other orange liquer
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/3 cup salad oil or light olive oil
  • 1 tsp poppy seed
  • *OR 3 Tbsp sugar, omit marmalade

Method

  • Whirl first 9 ingredients in a food processor. Add oil in slow stream and blend until thickened. Stir in poppy seed. Let stand 1/2 hour before serving or chill for a couple of days. Bring to room temp before using.
  • *Note the possible replacement of orange marmalade with extra sugar if desired.
  • Serve over leafy green salad and/or salad with fruit.
