Ingredients
- 2 pkg. yeast
- 1/4 c. warm water (110~)
- 1 1/2 c. buttermilk, heated to lukewarm
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. oil/melted shortening
- 1 tsp. salt
- 4 1/2 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
Method
- Combine buttermilk, sugar, oil and salt.
- Sift flour and soda into large bowl.
- Dissolve yeast in warm water and milk.
- Add to flour mixture; mix well.
- Let stand 10 minutes.
- Roll out and cut into desired shape.
- Melt additional butter in bottom of 13 x 9-inch pan.
- Place rolls in pan, turning to butter top of each. Let stand 30 minutes to rise.
- Bake at 425° for 10 to 12 minutes.
