Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 1 c. chopped onion
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 cans (6 oz. each) or 1 can (12 oz.) tomato paste
  • 2 c. water
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. oregano
  • 1/2 tsp. thyme
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 can (4 oz.) sliced mushrooms, undrained
  • 12 oz. spaghetti, cooked and drained
  • 1 can (4 1/2 oz.) sliced ripe olives
  • grated Parmesan cheese

Method

  • In a skillet, brown beef; add onion and garlic and cook until transparent; drain.
  • Stir in tomato paste, water, seasonings and mushrooms.
  • Simmer uncovered 15 to 20 minutes, or until sauce reaches desired consistency; stir occasionally.
  • On heated serving platter, toss hot spaghetti with olives; pour sauce over.
  • Sprinkle with cheese.
