Ingredients

  • 3 lb. salad potatoes
  • 1 lb. bacon
  • 4 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 c. chopped onions
  • 6 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 1/2 c. water
  • 1 1/2 c. vinegar
  • 2 c. sugar

Method

  • Cook potatoes; cool, peel and slice.
  • Fry bacon until golden brown.
  • Take bacon out of pan; add butter to bacon grease.
  • Stir in flour until smooth.
  • Mix vinegar and water together in a bowl, then slowly add to flour mixture.
  • Add sugar, stirring all the time.
  • Pour over potatoes with chopped onions and crumbled bacon. Stir gently until all mixed together.
  • Serve.
