Ingredients
- 1 c. seedless raisins
- 1/2 c. water
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 c. sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 3/4 c. self-rising flour
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
- 1 c. chopped pecans
Method
- Preheat oven to 375°.
- Grease a 9 x 13-inch pan.
- Boil raisins in the water for 5 minutes.
- Add shortening and stir until melted. Add sugar, eggs and vanilla, mixing well.
- Blend in flour and spices.
- Stir in pecans.
- Spread in greased pan.
- Bake for 15 to 20 minutes.
- While warm, spread with frosting.
