Ingredients

  • 2 eggs, separated
  • 1 c. milk
  • 3 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 3 Tbsp. flour
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. vanilla flavoring
  • 3 Tbsp. margarine or butter
  • 1 baked pie shell

Method

  • In a mixing bowl, sift cocoa, flour and salt together. Separate eggs.
  • Beat egg yolks into cup of milk.
  • In a large iron skillet, melt margarine.
  • Add flour mixture and slowly pour beaten egg yolks and milk, stirring constantly.
  • (Use low heat.)
  • Cook until mixture is thick and fudge like.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Add vanilla and pour into baked pie shell.
  • Beat egg whites using 2 to 3 teaspoons sugar until stiff.
  • Pour over pie and bake until golden in color.
