Ingredients
- 1/4 lb. salt pork, cubed
- 1 (6 lb.) chicken, cut up
- salt and pepper to taste
- water
- 4 white potatoes, sliced
- flour dumplings
Method
- Render salt pork in heavy pan; add chicken to salt pork.
- Add salt and pepper; cover with water and bring to boil.
- Cook very slow for 3 hours.
- The last 20 minutes, bring to rolling boil and add potatoes and dumplings.
- Remove entire mixture from pan; thicken stock with flour and pour over all.
