Ingredients

  • 1 loaf French bread (day old)
  • 2 (12 oz.) cans evaporated milk
  • 1 c. water
  • 6 large eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 (8 oz.) can crushed pineapple, drained
  • 1 large Red Delicious apple, grated
  • 1 c. raisins
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 5 Tbsp. vanilla extract
  • 1/4 c. butter, melted

Method

  • Combine bread, milk and water. Stir in eggs; blend well. Stir in pineapple and next 4 ingredients. Stir in butter. Pour into a greased 9 x 13-inch baking dish. Bake for 35 to 45 minutes at 350°. Serve with Lemon Sauce.
