Ingredients

  • 2 (16 oz.) bags Kroger frozen gumbo mix
  • 1 (16 oz.) jar Van de Walle medium picante sauce
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1 tsp. black pepper
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 can tomato sauce (8 oz.)
  • 1/2 lb. Owens hot sausage, browned and drained
  • 1/2 lb. Hillshire beef or pork sausage, sliced
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 4 c. cooked rice

Method

  • Cook okra (gumbo mix) with picante sauce, water, pepper, garlic powder, tomato sauce and salt.
  • Cook until almost done, then add Owens sausage, Hillshire sausage and cooked rice.
  • Stir and cook another five minutes or until done.
  • Serve.
