Ingredients

  • 4 slices lean bacon, fried crisp
  • 1/2 c. chopped onion, broken into pieces
  • 1/4 c. chopped green pepper
  • 1/2 c. ketchup
  • 1/4 c. brown sugar
  • 1/4 c. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp. powdered barbecue seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp. liquid smoke
  • 1 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1 (31 oz.) can pork and beans, partially drained

Method

  • In small skillet, fry bacon.
  • Remove and set aside.
  • Saute onion and green pepper until onion becomes transparent.
  • Drain on paper towel.
  • In large bowl, combine ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, barbecue seasoning, liquid smoke and dry mustard.
  • Combine rest of ingredients.
  • Pour into 2-quart casserole dish.
  • Bake at 350°
  • for 30 to 45 minutes.
