Ingredients

  • 1 c. shortening
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1 c. white sugar
  • 2 beaten eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 3 c. rolled oats (uncooked)
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts
  • 1/2 c. raisins

Method

  • Cream together shortening, brown sugar and white sugar.
  • Then add eggs and vanilla.
  • Then sift together and add flour, soda and salt.
  • Add oats, nuts and raisins and mix well.
  • Refrigerate. Take spoonfuls and shape into balls.
  • Bake at 350° for 10 minutes on ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Makes 5 dozen.
