Ingredients

  • 1 c. white sugar
  • 1 c. pourable brown sugar
  • 1 c. butter flavored Crisco
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 Tbsp. milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 2 c. quick oats
  • 2 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips (12 oz.)
  • 1 pkg. (6 oz.) almond brickle bits
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts

Method

  • Combine sugars and shortening, add eggs, milk and vanilla; mix well.
  • Add flour, soda and salt, mix well.
  • Stir in oats, chips and nuts by hand.
  • Refrigerate for 30 minutes for easier handling. Make 1 1/4-inch balls.
  • Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Bake at 350° for 12 to 15 minutes.
  • Cool and store in airtight container.
