Ingredients
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 2 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. soda
- dash of cinnamon
- 2 c. chopped pecans
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 tsp. butter flavoring
- 1 Tbsp. margarine
Method
- Combine milk, soda, sugar and cinnamon in a large heavy saucepan.
- Bring to boil.
- Boil to a soft ball stage.
- Remove from heat.
- Stir in pecans, vanilla, butter and butter flavoring.
- Beat until candy loses its gloss.
- Scrape to one end of the pan.
- When it begins to thicken and gets creamy looking, drop by teaspoonful onto wax paper.
- Remove from wax paper as soon as the pralines congeal.
