Ingredients

  • 1 kg extra lean ground beef
  • 1/2 cup small onion, minced (to taste)
  • 1/2 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 tablespoon dried thyme
  • 1 pinch ground cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (to taste)
  • 1/3 cup BBQ Sauce
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs (to keep the mix from being too sticky)

Method

  • Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix well.
  • Form patties to the size desired. I like to take a good handful (about 1 cup) and make larger patties, so I generally get ten or eleven.
  • Cook on the BBQ, flipping every few minutes until done.
