Ingredients
- 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 tsp. onion, chopped very fine
- 1 large or 2 small cans mushroom pieces and stems, drained
- salt to taste
- 1 loaf white bread
- butter or margarine
Method
- Mix cream cheese, egg yolk, onion and salt in bowl.
- Brown mushrooms in butter or margarine.
- Add mushrooms to cream cheese mixture.
- Cut rounds of bread about 2 inches in diameter.
- Toast one side under broiler; butter untoasted side.
- Heap cream cheese mixture on rounds.
- Broil for a very few minutes, until they bubble and brown slightly.
- Serve warm.
