Ingredients

  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. margarine or butter, melted
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/3 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 c. cocoa
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 1/4 c. fudge sauce or fudge ice cream topping
  • 1 c. chilled whipping cream
  • 2 Tbsp. powdered sugar

Method

  • Heat oven to 325°.
  • Grease a round 8-inch pan or pie plate with shortening.
  • Mix sugar, margarine, vanilla, salt, flour, eggs and cocoa in a medium bowl with wooden spoon.
  • Stir in nuts.
  • Pour into pan.
  • Bake until wooden pick inserted comes out clean, about 25 minutes.
  • Immediately prick holes in pie with pick; spread fudge sauce over top.
  • Cool completely. Beat the whipping cream and powdered sugar
  • in a small bowl until stiff. Drizzle fudge sauce on top.
  • Store in refrigerator.
