Ingredients
- 1 stick margarine
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 2 c. sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 c. cocoa
- 3 Tbsp. warm water
- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Method
- Cream margarine, shortening and sugar.
- Add eggs, one at a time.
- Add the cocoa, mixed with the 3 tablespoons warm water. Combine dry ingredients and add alternately with the buttermilk and vanilla.
- Bake in three 9-inch prepared round cake pans in 350° oven for 25 to 30 minutes.
