Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef or ground chuck
  • 1/2 c. onion, chopped
  • 1 small can tomato sauce
  • 1 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 Tbsp. vinegar
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1 can beans (pintos, chili beans, etc.)

Method

  • Brown hamburger meat with onions; pour off drippings. Add tomato sauce; rinse can with water (1/2 cup more or less).
  • Use this water. Add chili powder, butter, vinegar and sugar. Simmer 15 minutes, then add beans and simmer 10 to 15 minutes more. Salt to your taste.
