Ingredients

  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 c. milk
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 5 Tbsp. flour
  • 2 Tbsp. cocoa (heaping tablespoons)
  • 1 Tbsp. butter or margarine
  • 1 pie crust, cooked

Method

  • Mix sugar, flour and cocoa together.
  • In separate bowl, beat milk and egg yolks together; strain.
  • Mix all ingredients and cook in double boiler or heavy sauce pan until very thick.
  • Pour into cooked pie crust.
  • Dot with butter.
  • Beat egg whites until fluffy. Add 4 Tbsp. sugar and beat until stiff peaks.
  • Pour over pie and brown in preheated 350° oven until lightly browned.
