Ingredients

  • 1 (7 oz.) seasoned croutons
  • 1 stick margarine, melted
  • 1 c. water
  • 2 1/2 c. chicken or turkey
  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 1/4 c. green onion tops (optional)
  • 1/2 c. mayonnaise
  • 1/2 c. chopped celery
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 c. milk
  • grated sharp Cheddar

Method

  • Mix croutons, stick margarine and water together (lightly). Pour 1/2 into casserole.
  • Mix chicken or turkey, onion, mayonnaise, celery and salt together.
  • Put into casserole on top of last mixture.
  • Put remaining crouton mixture on top.
  • Beat 2 eggs; add milk.
  • Pour evenly over bread mix.
  • Cover with foil. Bake at 325° for 40 minutes.
  • Put grated cheese on top.
  • Bake 10 more minutes.
